Honoring Dominique D. Calhoun: Recipient of the O.T. Wells Leadership Award

Congratulations to Dominique D. Calhoun, who was selected as a recipient of the esteemed O.T. Wells Leadership Award. The O.T. Wells, Sr. Leadership Award is a prestigious honor given by the National Bar Association to recognize exceptional leadership, legal excellence, and dedication to justice and civil rights. The award is a tribute to Ozro Thaddeus “O.T.” Wells Sr., a lawyer whose distinguished career involved work with civil rights organizations, the Department of Defense, and consulting for U.S. Attorney General Elliot Richardson in connection with the Watergate scandal. Between 1972 and 1973, Wells served as the president of the National Bar Association.

Beyond his legal practice, Dominique D. Calhoun is deeply committed to improving the lives of Texans and citizens across the country. He has lent his legal and business expertise to numerous non-profit organizations, including serving as the 81st President of the National Bar Association. His additional leadership roles include membership on the National Council of Bar Presidents; service as Commissioner for the American Bar Association’s Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity; status as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation; National Chairman of A Kappa’s Promise and Learn 2 Live, programs sponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; board membership with Undies for Everyone; and Chairman of the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation.
